Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Authorities reported they were notified by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Roughly 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report initial examinations show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the attack left him speechless and required to be addressed quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
